These days
gaining support for any good cause can be difficult,
and yet its not to do with the fact that we are an
un generous nation, or that in this economic climate
people have stopped giving.
It merely the fact that there are so many worthwhile
causes out there all competing for your support,
that getting peoples attention soon becomes the
biggest problem.
So here at EFT we have chosen a couple of less heard
of cause's to support in different ways and to let
you know why in the hope that you may want to
consider supporting them yourself.
First up we have "Team Lewis"
from their page
"Team Lewis are group of friends and family that was
formed in memory of 4 year old Lewis O'Neill and
also to raise funds for the Acorns Children's
Hospice. We have a 10 year plan that will take us
around the World to face some of the Worlds most
difficult challenges. We also have the Team Lewis
Football Team that plays every 2 years in the Lewis
O'Neill Charity Cup so far we have played Aston
Villa twice .We hope to raise as much as we can and
with the support of others we can do it."
They are trying to raise as much money as possible
and spend all year fundraising for Acorns.
You can follow them on Facebook at

or give at

there is also going to be the

Which brings us onto
the "The Acorns Children's Hospice"
By supporting Team Lewis this helps the Hospice,
however we also support by advertising and being
involved where needed with Rod Alcorn and the fans
party that take place before every game at Wembley.
All money raised at the fans party goes straight to
the Hospice.
So who are they???

Established in 1988, Acorns Children's Hospice Trust
is a registered charity offering a network of care
for life limited and life threatened children and
young people, and their families, across the heart
of England. These children and young people are not
expected to reach adulthood and require specialist
care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Acorns is
currently supporting nearly 600 children and 800
families, including those who are bereaved.
Acorns is the only organisation that provides this
level of care to these vulnerable youngsters whilst
offering a range of support services to the whole
family to help them cope at every stage of their
child's life and beyond into bereavement.
Acorns provide crucial care and support for these
children and their families and it is only made
possible by the generosity of people like you!
and finally for now Stone Cross St George.
Stone Cross based in West Bromwich aim to have the
biggest St Georges day parade in the world.
Year on year its growing and in 2010 they had aver
25,000 people march the 1.8 mile route (although it
did feel a little longer then that, but was good
fun!)
This parade can only keep going with public support.
People come from all over the Uk to march, bringing
friends and family with them. The council will not
provide any support for this parade so the entire
event is funded from fundraising and donations.
you can find out more on Facebook
Whilst on route they collect money to fund the next
one and for charity, a really good day out for the
family and for making new friends.
Sarah Also personally over the last few years by
Jumping out of a plane, organising funday's and
charity calendars has raised money for the CF Trust
and for Mind.
